Purpose:
Based on ample research locally and internationally, excessive (toxic) stress will lead to various physical diseases and psychological problems. The costs of stress to corporates (and society) are tremendous (in USA, the estimated annual costs related to stress are US$300 billion1😉 and are usually in the forms of absenteeism/presenteeism; tardiness; drastic decrease in work performance; work injury; wastage of human resources (due to “unwilling” resignation or layoff); direct medical, legal and insurance costs, etc. Thus, it is a major target for corporations to enable their staff in learning and equipping with knowledge and skills of stress management.
Benefit:
Due to continuously increasing extent of stress in current working environments, individuals may face the results of various physical diseases, such as cardiovascular diseases, and psychological problems, such as anxiety, depression, etc. All would negatively affect their quality of working and daily lives. Individuals are thus encouraged to learn and equip with knowledge and skills of managing stress so as to contribute in attaining long term work-life integration.
