Team Pitching
ICE PITCH@ FinTech 2017 has a diverse range of startups that are developing FinTech solutions relating to cybersecurity, crypto-currencies, data-analytics, blockchain and machine learning. The hackathorn was designed to encourage the teams to exchange ideas through open discussion among each other, and with the help of the mentors, the teams are able to seek valuable advice to move their startups to the next level.
Team 1: Shopway
Shopway stands on the cutting edge of Fintech with its combination of machine learning and location positioning. Artificial intelligence of machine learning helps gain insights of consumer’s purchasing pattern, needs and interests. Location positioning, on the other hand, creates a unique user experience by offering real-time and precise mapping. Our team combines business talent and computer science experts. We are committed to revolutionizing your shopping experience.
Team 2: Cytocurrencies
Cytocurrencies recognized that corporate gifts are a huge market. Sourcing for rewards upon the rapid changes of customer preference are costly for corporates and low response from the receivers on the gifts also means poor return of the promotion activities. The solutions we suggested envisages the use of intelligent analytics on an ongoing basic and can assist corporate to identify customers preference accurately so to offer corporate rewards at the right time in the right place. The big data accumulated assist corporate to identify the popular products and streamline the sourcing, private blockchain technology can allow a real time control over the rewards that earned for both corporate and their customers hence their compliance department.
Team 3: Quantatic
Quantatics develops market analytics which fit-in investors’ portfolio ecology. Our analytics are not black box and clients understand every single number we provide, so that they can them to improve their decision-making. Calvin Lau receives his master’s degree in statistics from Oxford. He has a strong interest in finance and maths. Leo Luk studied MBA from Oxford with extensive experience and network on the buy-side.
Team 4: QUICKER
QUICKER targets to solve the problem of people spending unnecessary time waiting in line to order food. With QUICKER, people can use their smart phones to SEE MENU, ORDER, PAY and BE NOTIFIED when the food is ready for pick up. QUICKER is a platform for all restaurants! It can be applied in food courts, canteens, fast food shops, street snack shops and even dine-in restaurants. It is designed to fit into operations with MINIMAL integration. Wait Less, Live More!
Team 5: Planto
Planto is an Asia focused financial data aggregator that integrations with bank, credit card and investment accounts. Our vision is to organize your personal financial information and make it useful towards more personalized and efficient financial services. Planto provides account aggregation as a paid API to businesses and will be launching a financial management mobile application in Hong Kong that integrates all accounts in one place and helps stay on your expenses and other aspects of finances.
Team 6: WeCareBill
WeCareBill is an AI Answer Robot about medical costs. We analyze medical bills contributed from patient anonymously, and establish a self-serviced chatbot to help patients to learn about the medical costs and choices before treatments. We are an InsurTech Social Enterprise. Our Mission is to improve patients’ choices by enhancing price transparency of medical treatments. The founder is an Actuary with start-up experience. The team understands the pain points in Hong Kong health care ecosystem. The platform challenges the status quo of some of the unreasonable medical practices, especially unnecessary treatments for insurance-covered patients. Transparent medical bill would help to slow down the increase of health insurance premium rates, making it affordable. It will alleviate the burden of the public health hospital, making health care more accessible in Hong Kong.
Team 7: No Phish Tech
No Phish Technology is committed to fight against phishing attacks by providing users with the most advanced and proper products and services across all feasible platforms. Compared to traditional black list methods, our solution detects phishing webpage timely, and even finds the phishing target. We provide mobile App safe QRTM for end-users detecting QR code based phishing, Anti-phishing APIs for enterprise users for timely phishing monitoring and filtering, and Analytical Reports for banks and governments, like phishing trend and distribution.

Alan Yip, Co-founder and Managing Director, Guru Online
Mr. Yip serves as the Chairman of the Board and co-founder of Guru Online (Holdings) Limited, a publicly listed Internet company in Hong Kong. Guru Online inspires to digitalize traditional business by leveraging creativity and innovation, revolutionizing current market situation. The company thrives as a forerunning powerhouse with collective wisdoms from hundreds of Internet specialists.

Arthur Chan, Director, SagaDigits
Arthur Chan is a passionate believer of data technology and an enthusiastic advocate of commercial application development.
Graduated with a First Class Honors in Bachelor of Engineering, Computer Science from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), Arthur was an exchange scholar at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and later obtained a Graduate Diploma in English & HK Law (CPE). For more than 10 years, he has been working closely with top global companies in Hong Kong and China in mobile commerce, e-commerce and big data area.
Arthur founded SagaDigits in 2016 to provide Big Data solutions to businesses and thus effectively improving people’s life. He worked on projects such as predictive analysis for finance and commercial enterprises, designing an online-and-offline Big Data project to improve distributor performance for a global company, and implemented a WeChat Big Data user analysis for a top 50 Chinese company. His expertise has lead him to become a speaker for the Internet of Things Dialogue (2015), the Hong Kong OpenSource Conference (2016) the DBS Business Classroom (2017) and he is a Board Member of Internet of Things Alliance Hong Kong.
Anson Suen, Co-founder and CEO of FundPark
Anson is the co-founder and CEO of FundPark, a Hong Kong based purchase order financing and invoice financing online platform for small and medium enterprises (“SMEs”). FundPark possesses its proprietary due diligence and risk model to process and price each financing request which provides an efficient and user-friendly channel for SMEs.
Anson, before co-founding FundPark, worked in Commodities Trade department in HSBC overseeing a lending portfolio of more than USD500 million focusing on trade finance products. He graduated from The University of Hong Kong with Quantitative Finance major.
Jack CHEN, General Manger, HEYCOINS
Jack Chen is a millennial who feels passionate about entrepreneurship. Prior to joining team HEYCOINS, he has worked in a great variety of organizations across industries such as Ingdan (H.K), E-Joy Cultural Creative Co., Ltd (China), Asian Pacific Environmental Network (U.S.) and the Hong Kong Maritime Museum (H.K). He was also a visiting student researcher at University of California, Berkeley. These experiences have enabled him to develop a valuable and transferable skill set across different sectors.
Blake Larson, Managing Director of International, lalalmove
Blake Larson is currently the Managing Director, International for lalamove. Blake has spent his career founding companies, leading teams and overseeing operations during periods of exponential growth for both Fortune 500 companies and tech start-ups across four continents. Previously, Blake has taken on strategic, senior executive and founding roles at Rocket Internet’s Easy Taxi, Air Crew Club, the Clinton Foundation and Walgreens. Eugene Chan is a digital strategist focusing ono social media, public engagement and social communications.
He previously served in-house as PR manager of MTR Corporation, playing the role of social media strategist. He headed up a compact team to work with a range of communications and operation colleagues, as well as managing digital consultant firms. He monitors, strategizes, plan and manages the public utility’s digital communication platforms.
Edwin Lee, Founder and CEO, Bridgeway Prime Shop Fund Management (Hackathorn Speaker)
Bridgeway Group was established by Edwin in 2001 as a business broker and builder. In 2015, Edwin successfully transformed the business into the first SFC-licensed asset management company in Hong Kong that focuses on giving investors a new way of investment, by focusing on its core strength in prime shop investments, with type 1(Dealing with securities), type 4 (Advising on securities) and type 9 (Asset management) regular activities licenses under Bridgeway Prime Shop Fund Management Limited. Bridgeway and Edwin were also twice featured as business case studies: “A Launching Pad for Entrepreneurs” and “The Dynamics of Innovative Entrepreneurship” by the University of Hong Kong which were listed under Harvard Business Review in 2010 and 2012 respectively.

Jeffrey Au belongs to the 1st generation of creative-force in e-business, e-content and mobile business when the technology, Internet and telecommunication boom started in the exciting 90’s.
He is involved in the development and advocacy of most of the pioneer digital products and services in Internet’s earliest stage, including Internet content portal, e-commerce, search engine, push technology platform, digital community, mobile gaming, mobile utilities and other most novel digital services in the development of Chinese Books Cyber Store (1st online shopping store in HK), China Dotcom (1st HK/China based listed company in Nasdaq), Hongkong Dotcom (listed company in HK), Taiwan Dotcom, Netscape search engine, AOL Hong Kong, Cable & Wireless-Hong Kong Telecom’s various digital setups, YesMobile’s mobile application services, etc. He is also involved in public policy advocacy, including research, engagement, partnership and education in various settings of thinktanks and consultancies.
His life goal is to evangelize people about the significance of fulfilling human needs with services that are embedded with humanistic elements, thus creating solution with human touch. He is the partner and startup care-taker in the angel setup of Angels and Incubators, developing talents and incubating startups in the community of startups, digital entrepreneurs and social entrepreneurs. Kevin Shee, CEO & Founder, The SC Storage
Kevin Shee introduced the mini storage concept to Hong Kong, launching SC Storage in 2001. Today it is the biggest storage service provider in Hong Kong, more than 18,000 rooms in 65 different locations providing a wide variety of collateral services including transportation, mail delivery and small offices.
In 2009, Kevin Shee won the Innovative Entrepreneur Award, he also won the Young Entrepreneur Award of DHL/SCMP Hong Kong Business Awards in 2011. In 2015, Mr. Kevin Shee becomes President of Innovative Entrepreneur Association.
Rafal Czerniawski, Co-founder and CEO, IC Studio
Rafal Czerniawski is currently the Co-founder and CEO of IC Studio, a startup incubation studio based in Hong Kong, a Co-founder of the Betatron startup accelerator and early-stage startups Reach-All and Hopsee as well as CTO at QuickSpaces and a technology advisor for several local startups. A seasoned technologist who breathes and eats softwats, Refal was previously CTO and Head of Electronic Trading for CLSA.

Mr. Johnson Yim is the CEO of the E-Business Solutions Limited (EBSL). EBSL is a local software technology company specializes in IoT and Mobility solutions. Johnson is a veteran information technology specialist who has rich practical experience in technology development from idea generation, research & development to real-life implementation. Johnson has over 20 years of solid experience in technology transfer, product development, project management and system development. He and his team have successfully applied IoT technology in a board spectrum of application areas including asset and facility management, mobile workforce management, supply chain management, cold chain management, vehicle tracking, passenger baggage tracking, library management, corpse management, etc.
Before joining EBSL, Mr. YIM has served at Motorola Semiconductors (Hong Kong) Limited, City University of Hong Kong and a number of technology firms.

Winson Kwok, Business Development Specialist, Corporate Hub
Winson Kwok is a business development specialist at Corporate Hub and Arco City where he co-founded, offering co-working space and accounting services to business especially the startup community. He graduated from University of California, Irvine with a degree in Economics.
About Hong Kong FinTech Week
Hong Kong will host its second annual Hong Kong FinTech Week at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre to accommodate an expanded programme of events and activities that will highlight the distinctive and dynamic qualities the city offers the global Fintech community.
This year, Hong Kong Fintech Week will be the first of a series of three consecutive weeks of Fintech activities in Hong Kong to be attended by regulators, entrepreneurs, investors, start-ups, academics and service providers from Hong Kong and around the world.

The platform challenges the status quo of some of the unreasonable medical practices, especially unnecessary treatments for insurance-covered patients. Transparent medical bill would help to slow down the increase of health insurance premium rates, making it affordable. It will alleviate the burden of the public health hospital, making health care more accessible in Hong Kong.

Alan Yip, Co-founder and Managing Director, Guru Online
Mr. Yip serves as the Chairman of the Board and co-founder of Guru Online (Holdings) Limited, a publicly listed Internet company in Hong Kong. Guru Online inspires to digitalize traditional business by leveraging creativity and innovation, revolutionizing current market situation. The company thrives as a forerunning powerhouse with collective wisdoms from hundreds of Internet specialists.
Started from 2007, Mr. Yip has founded Guru Online to launch a high-growth online marketing platform that enables brands to reach diverse customers. Guru Online is also one of the pioneer companies in Asia to leverage social media platforms in business. Headquartered in Hong Kong, with branches in Beijing and Guangzhou, Guru Online has worked with dozens of Fortune 500 companies. Arthur Chan, Director, SagaDigits
Arthur Chan is a passionate believer of data technology and an enthusiastic advocate of commercial application development.
Graduated with a First Class Honors in Bachelor of Engineering, Computer Science from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), Arthur was an exchange scholar at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and later obtained a Graduate Diploma in English & HK Law (CPE). For more than 10 years, he has been working closely with top global companies in Hong Kong and China in mobile commerce, e-commerce and big data area.
Arthur founded SagaDigits in 2016 to provide Big Data solutions to businesses and thus effectively improving people’s life. He worked on projects such as predictive analysis for finance and commercial enterprises, designing an online-and-offline Big Data project to improve distributor performance for a global company, and implemented a WeChat Big Data user analysis for a top 50 Chinese company. His expertise has lead him to become a speaker for the Internet of Things Dialogue (2015), the Hong Kong OpenSource Conference (2016) the DBS Business Classroom (2017) and he is a Board Member of Internet of Things Alliance Hong Kong.
Anson Suen, Co-founder and CEO of FundPark
Anson is the co-founder and CEO of FundPark, a Hong Kong based purchase order financing and invoice financing online platform for small and medium enterprises (“SMEs”). FundPark possesses its proprietary due diligence and risk model to process and price each financing request which provides an efficient and user-friendly channel for SMEs.
Anson, before co-founding FundPark, worked in Commodities Trade department in HSBC overseeing a lending portfolio of more than USD500 million focusing on trade finance products. He graduated from The University of Hong Kong with Quantitative Finance major.
Jack CHEN, General Manger, HEYCOINS
Jack Chen is a millennial who feels passionate about entrepreneurship. Prior to joining team HEYCOINS, he has worked in a great variety of organizations across industries such as Ingdan (H.K), E-Joy Cultural Creative Co., Ltd (China), Asian Pacific Environmental Network (U.S.) and the Hong Kong Maritime Museum (H.K). He was also a visiting student researcher at University of California, Berkeley. These experiences have enabled him to develop a valuable and transferable skill set across different sectors.

Blake Larson is currently the Managing Director, International for lalamove. Blake has spent his career founding companies, leading teams and overseeing operations during periods of exponential growth for both Fortune 500 companies and tech start-ups across four continents. Eugene Chan is a digital strategist focusing ono social media, public engagement and social communications.
He previously served in-house as PR manager of MTR Corporation, playing the role of social media strategist. He headed up a compact team to work with a range of communications and operation colleagues, as well as managing digital consultant firms. He monitors, strategizes, plan and manages the public utility’s digital communication platforms.
Edwin Lee, Founder and CEO, Bridgeway Prime Shop Fund Management (Hackathorn Speaker)
Bridgeway Group was established by Edwin in 2001 as a business broker and builder. In 2015, Edwin successfully transformed the business into the first SFC-licensed asset management company in Hong Kong that focuses on giving investors a new way of investment, by focusing on its core strength in prime shop investments, with type 1(Dealing with securities), type 4 (Advising on securities) and type 9 (Asset management) regular activities licenses under Bridgeway Prime Shop Fund Management Limited. Jeffrey Au belongs to the 1st generation of creative-force in e-business, e-content and mobile business when the technology, Internet and telecommunication boom started in the exciting 90’s.
He is involved in the development and advocacy of most of the pioneer digital products and services in Internet’s earliest stage, including Internet content portal, e-commerce, search engine, push technology platform, digital community, mobile gaming, mobile utilities and other most novel digital services in the development of Chinese Books Cyber Store (1st online shopping store in HK), China Dotcom (1st HK/China based listed company in Nasdaq), Hongkong Dotcom (listed company in HK), Taiwan Dotcom, Netscape search engine, AOL Hong Kong, Cable & Wireless-Hong Kong Telecom’s various digital setups, YesMobile’s mobile application services, etc. He is also involved in public policy advocacy, including research, engagement, partnership and education in various settings of thinktanks and consultancies.

Kevin Shee, CEO & Founder, The SC Storage
Kevin Shee introduced the mini storage concept to Hong Kong, launching SC Storage in 2001. Today it is the biggest storage service provider in Hong Kong, more than 18,000 rooms in 65 different locations providing a wide variety of collateral services including transportation, mail delivery and small offices.
In 2009, Kevin Shee won the Innovative Entrepreneur Award, he also won the Young Entrepreneur Award of DHL/SCMP Hong Kong Business Awards in 2011. In 2015, Mr. Kevin Shee becomes President of Innovative Entrepreneur Association.
Rafal Czerniawski, Co-founder and CEO, IC Studio
Rafal Czerniawski is currently the Co-founder and CEO of IC Studio, a startup incubation studio based in Hong Kong, a Co-founder of the Betatron startup accelerator and early-stage startups Reach-All and Hopsee as well as CTO at QuickSpaces and a technology advisor for several local startups. A seasoned technologist who breathes and eats softwats, Refal was previously CTO and Head of Electronic Trading for CLSA.

Mr. Johnson Yim is the CEO of the E-Business Solutions Limited (EBSL). EBSL is a local software technology company specializes in IoT and Mobility solutions. Johnson is a veteran information technology specialist who has rich practical experience in technology development from idea generation, research & development to real-life implementation. Johnson has over 20 years of solid experience in technology transfer, product development, project management and system development. He and his team have successfully applied IoT technology in a board spectrum of application areas including asset and facility management, mobile workforce management, supply chain management, cold chain management, vehicle tracking, passenger baggage tracking, library management, corpse management, etc.
Before joining EBSL, Mr. YIM has served at Motorola Semiconductors (Hong Kong) Limited, City University of Hong Kong and a number of technology firms.

About Hong Kong FinTech Week
Hong Kong will host its second annual Hong Kong FinTech Week at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre to accommodate an expanded programme of events and activities that will highlight the distinctive and dynamic qualities the city offers the global Fintech community.
This year, Hong Kong Fintech Week will be the first of a series of three consecutive weeks of Fintech activities in Hong Kong to be attended by regulators, entrepreneurs, investors, start-ups, academics and service providers from Hong Kong and around the world.
