Mr. Charles Mok is the Legislative Councilor representing the Information Technology Functional Constituency of the Hong Kong SAR.
Charles is well known as one of the ICT industry leaders and Internet pioneers in Hong Kong, and one of the most out-spoken IT professionals who advocates the application of ICT in the Hong Kong community. He is the Honorary President of the Hong Kong Information Technology Federation and the Past Chair of the Hong Kong Internet Service Providers Association. In 2006, he co-founded the Internet Society Hong Kong, the local chapter of Internet Society, the global technology and advocacy body for the Internet.
Charles has also maintained close ties with the international IT community. He serves as the Chairman of the Asian, Australasian and Pacific Islands Regional At-Large Organization (APRALO), Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) which facilitates the alignment of the Internet development in Hong Kong with the international pace and trends.
Further to his work in ICT, Charles is active in public services with a view to uphold and safeguard the core values of Hong Kong of which include democracy, liberty, human rights, rule of law and integrity. He serves as a member of the Consultation Panel of the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority and, CreateSmart Initiative Vetting Committee. He is an elected member of the Election Committee (IT Subsector) since 1998. As regards to his engagement in the civil society, Charles is the Chairman of the Professional Commons, a cross-sector professional think tank. He is also a member of the Management Committee of Cyber Senior Network Development Association and, a director of Hong Kong Democratic Foundation.
Besides the legislature and his public and community services, Charles is a director of two ICT companies.
Charles graduated from the Purdue University in the United States with his Master degree of Science in Electrical Engineering and his Bachelor degree of Science in Computer and Electrical Engineering.

StartMeUp Week of InvestHK, HKSAR Gov
Incu-Lab ICE Days (Innovation and Change-Making Entrepreneurship) is an idea sharing marathon, about innovation and creative entrepreneurship. Local and international audience of innovators and entrepreneurs will understand more about the situation.
A wide range of topics will be included: open source, open data and social media development; trends of creative media industry; innovations in agriculture, social economy and city planning; the stories of tech startups, companies and social enterprises; techs that can help the underprivileged and all sorts of ideas that can change the society in an innovative way.
We have also invited Mr. Kim A. Salkeld, JP, the head of Efficient Unit, HKSAR government, to talk about SIE fund and social innovation.
The Incu-Lab ICE Days is supported by InvestHK of HK government, and is part of the Startmeup Week of InvestHK.
Startmeup Week will be happening from the 2 – 7 December 2013 in Hong Kong! It will include the first Startmeup Venture Forum and many amazing events organised by the Hong Kong startup community.
