About APAC Innovation Summit
To mark the 10th anniversary of InnoAsia — the signature event of Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation — it has been renamed as the APAC Innovation Summit (AIS) with “Shaping the Future” as the theme.
With the support from Hong Kong’s universities, R&D centres and over 70 trade associations, AIS aims to create a landmark forum where leading minds and influencers from Asian Pacific nations can converge to mutually inspire through new thinking models and engage in forward-thinking dialogue on policy implementation and market adaption with uniquely Asian characteristics.
Programme highlights:
1. International Knowledge Transfer Conference (1 December 2014) – Dedicated to university practitioners, industrial partners and entrepreneur start-ups, KT models and practice, social innovation and entrepreneurship will be explored and discussed. Presidents from Hong Kong and overseas universities will also exchange their views at the “The Presidents Forum” on how to leverage knowledge transfer for institutional advancement from the higher education perspective.
2. Tech Forums (2 December 2014) – Designed for senior technology and management executives to explore the next mega technology trends and associated market opportunities specific to the following areas:
1) Advanced Materials
2) Translational Biomedicine
3) Green Technologies
4) Information and Communications Technology (ICT)
5) Internet of Things (IoT)
6) Robotics

Main Conference (3 December 2014) – Bringing together the insights and experience of leading government policy setters, academic researchers and business leaders to an audience interested in the high-level interaction of innovation policy setting and the implications on change ignition, implementation, management and trickle down commercialisation.
4. Networking Cocktail and Dinner (3 December 2014) – A relaxing gathering for speakers and participants after whole day’s worth of insightful and rewarding sharings. The cocktail session and dinner will also provide a great opportunity for participants to network with top executives of AIS supporting organisations and partners.
5. FT Innovate Asia 2014 (4 December 2014) – The first regional conference by Financial Times tailored for CEOs and other C-suite decision-makers from cutting-edge businesses to explore the challenges associated with adopting a new technology, concept or brand to market, with a special focus on realising Asia’s huge economic potential.
6. Hong Kong Venture Capital and Angel Investment Conference (5 December 2014) – Explores business opportunities in new technology, insights into latest technology investment trends and funding / IPO processes and practices for entrepreneurs, financiers and investors.
7. AIS @ PRD (5 December 2014) – An opportunity for overseas delegates to visit Dongguan and network with firms in the Pearl River Delta region at a technology forum jointly organised by Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation(香港科技園公司), Guangdong Provincial Department of Science & Technology (廣東省科學技術廳) and Dongguan Science and Technology Bureau (東莞市科學技術局).
8. Hong Kong Tech Showcase @ IDT Expo (4 – 6 December 2014) – At the world-class exposition of innovations, Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation together with local universities, R&D centres and Hong Kong inventors will present to both local and overseas enterprises their latest research outputs which are ready for commercialisation.
Who attends?
The APAC Innovation Summit brings together representatives from the government, academia, research and development, finance and related industries to learn and exchange views on current challenges and opportunities for Asian innovation. It specifically focuses on strategic framework design, best practice case studies, potential economic opportunities and implementation roadmaps in an exclusively Asian context. For attendees, it provides a tangible opportunity to exchange information on policy and strategic initiatives to advance innovation and the development of the knowledge economy in Asia.
